26.Nov.2008 High School Programs And Fundraising

Over the past three years, I have found the beef jerky fundraiser to be one of the best tools I have ever discovered. I currently coach a volleyball team that travels during the season in order to improve our position within the league. I have found that traveling to play with other teams across the state has had a great deal of benefit to the players on my team. First, these players are able to expand upon their strengths through defeating teams at a higher skill level. Second, they learn how to cover up for any troubled aspects of their game. If I did not have the ability to take my team on the road, it is likely that I would not be able to coach this team at all. I have used a fundraiser as a means of funding this project and keep it out of the hands of school administrators.

Having worked with the school for many years, I know that they are opposed to any project that required expenses. If I were to attempt to obtain money, I would be discouraged from bringing the team on the road. I have found a way around this by making sure that I have the funds to pay for the transportation of every person that belongs to the team. I have used a beef jerky fundraiser in order to make parents are of just how much it costs to run a successful volleyball program. Very often, people are surprised at just how costly it can be. However, selling jerky is something that the girls are willing to provide their services for. Since I do not have to pay for the staff, I am only responsible for offsetting the cost of the product. Beef jerky is very cheap, this results in the profits I need to keep this program running.
